Tide of Iron is a beautiful and streamlined, scenario driven game that focuses on the American and German armies in 1944-1945. The area the base game concentrates on is Northern Europe in this time frame.
Tide of Iron has many scenarios that come with the game, and is supported by Fantasy Flight Game with additional official scenarios that you can download off of their website to add more gameplay. The game set includes a modular, double sided game boards and terrain overlays to customize the board to either official scenarios, or scenarios that you create on your own. The game play is fast, smooth, and very sophisticated. Player must take and hold targets on the map, and decide how to best utilize their specialty troops.
Tide of Iron is a beautiful game supported with many wonderful expansions that add new units and scenarios to your game. The Normandy Expansion, Days of the Fox, Map Pack, and Scenario book are all great additions which are available separately to enhance your Tide of Iron experience.
