In Maori you will build an island through tile placement and find things on the island to explore, discover and trade. Every game turns out different as the map is new every time.
Once you find and start creating your island, you search for palms and huts. There is also boats to help you to increase your rate of discovery. The shells, which are highly prized, provide additional options in the simple and sophisticated game. With Maori, pay time is only about 1/2 an hour, so it is a great filler while waiting for others to arrive to game night, or between heavier games. It is also easy enough for younger players to grasp, but has depth in the strategy for the older players.
Maori is for 2-5 cleaver explorers, ages 8+ and takes about 30-45 minutes to play. Maori includes: 97 island tiles, 5 players boards, 1 explorer ship, 5 small ships, 30 wooden shells and rule booklet. |
